An Artist Studio, where innovation happens, anchored by innovation and social impact, which identifies projects and supports them with grant funding, specifically for creating a proof of concept. We aim to intentionally effect positive change across a range of social issues through innovative storytelling. We elevate artists and amplify their ideas, while helping to package them into compelling projects that can be pitched to executives across WarnerMedia divisions for further development. #ArtistsFirst
The 150 team connects with the artist community in a variety of ways to curate interesting ideas and explore collaboration. Working through WarnerMedia’s network of arts and culture partners, as well as uncovering imaginative content online and through other cultural touch points, we pursue projects with impact. By invitation-only, select creative teams are encouraged to share their project idea and funding request for further consideration, via our online application process. Once a project is submitted, 150 meets with the creative team to discuss proposed proof of concept deliverables, and a final determination is made on grant funding. Grant agreements are reviewed/signed by the designated creative team (1 or more artists) receiving funding. Once paperwork is completed, an invoice for the approved grant amount is submitted to WarnerMedia for processing. It takes 10-12 weeks to process grants, which are administered on a rolling basis.
Projects that make an impact, while fostering creative risk-taking, and reflecting the 150 brand attributes — unconventional, subversive, unpredictable, irreverent, unexpected, and unfiltered. Ideas we can ELEVATE. 150 administers grants to support proof of concept development for all types of projects, including feature films (narrative + documentary), episodic (scripted + unscripted), animation, etc. Proof of concept deliverables are custom to each grant recipient, with examples including: video content (e.g. teaser, scene, mood reel, pilot episode, short), pitch decks, microsite experience, pilot script, feature script).
Project funding ranges from $10k microgrants to larger grants awarded between $25k – $100k, depending on project scope and proof of concept deliverables.
Select creative teams are invited to share their project idea and funding request for further consideration, via our online application process. The 150 team reviews each submission and makes a determination on the overall funding request and specific grant amount, if accepted.
Grants are administered on a rolling basis throughout the year, until all annual funding support has been allocated across the 150 portfolio of projects.
The artist or creative teams can submit more than one project for consideration, but no more than three (3) projects per team. A project that has received a proof of concept grant can submit an additional request for supplemental development support. 150 will review this new request and make a determination on any incremental funding support.
The artist or creative team accepting a 150 grant is agreeing to the terms of the WarnerMedia agreement, which includes an exclusive period for proof of concept development, as well as a first look period for the project deliverables to be shared across WarnerMedia executives/divisions.
