SYNOPSIS

White Space, follows the inner life of a deaf performance poet as he makes his debut at an open-mic night for a hearing audience. Can the language of the heart emancipate the inner voice, transcending the white space between a hearing audience and a deaf man’s soul?

FILMMAKER BIO

Maya Washington is the Creative Director of Running Water Entertainment and Writer/Director of the award-winning short, White Space . Maya began her career onstage as a child actor/dancer and has appeared in print advertisements, commercials, television, film and theater worldwide. Maya’s plays have been produced on regional stages and her poetry has appeared in national literary publications. She brings an MFA in Writing (Hamline University) and a BA in Theatre (University of Southern California) to her visual work.
